SportWest partners with Roobix for digital transformation of RAC WA Sports Star Awards

Roobix has been delighted to support WA Sports Federation in the digital transformation of the 2017 RAC WA Sports Star Awards, one of the first gala dinner events to be held in Perth’s new Optus Stadium.

The RAC WA Sports Star Awards recognises excellence in sport and celebrates the achievements of sports people from WA.

The digital transformation was completed across two distinct projects. The first encompassing the management of the Awards night itself using Roobix’s proprietary event management software, Evnto. The second, a custom built online nomination portal, enabling the electronic submission of nominations for the first time in the Awards history.

In previous years, both the submission of nominations and the management of the Awards night had been completed manually, resulting in significant administrative effort, not only to collate and judge the nominations, but to allocate and manage the sale of tickets for the awards.

Evnto is a corporate event management system built to eliminate the administrative tasks associated with corporate events including RSVP management, ticket sales, attendee communication and table planning.  Roobix has assisted with provision of the software, training and support and setup for the RAC WA Sports Star Awards.

WA Sports Federation, Chief Executive Rob Thompson commented: “Evnto has revolutionised the way we manage the RAC WA Sports Star Awards. We have seen massive efficiency gains over what it traditionally took to manage the event, which this year will be attended by almost 700 people”.

The custom nomination portal managed nominations for all 7 of the award categories streamlining the process for nominators, WASF staff and judges. In 2017, it supported 228 nominations across all categories.

Historically, nominations were completed on paper and either faxed, emailed or dropped back to the WA Sports Federation offices,” commented CEO Rob Thompson. “The nomination portal allowed nominators to complete the entire process online. These improvements to our digital operations not only improve the user experience for our members but ensure that the RAC WA Sports Star Awards continue as the most prestigious event in the WA sporting calendar”.

Roobix CEO, Melissa Strutt commented:

The WA Sports Federation is the peak industry body for sports in WA. Roobix has always had a strong connection with the WA sporting community and we’re honoured to be given the opportunity to partner with WASF to help this fantastic award run smoothly”.

The 2017 RAC WA Sports Star Awards will be held in Perth’s new Optus Stadium on Thursday the 8th of February, 2018.
