When you set up a website, you’ll purchase your domain – what comes after the www. in your web address, or after the @ in your email address. For us this is “roobix.com.au“.
 
Usually businesses will extend this to their email address as well as their website, although sometimes businesses will start off with a free domain for their emails such as Gmail, Hotmail, BigPond, Outlook etc.
 
This can be a great cost saver in the initial set up of your business, but in the long term as your business grows it can have a negative impact on the perception of your business by any contacts. Potential clients and suppliers may question the legitimacy of your business as well as the size and professionalism of your operation.
